What level does your Volt gauge sit at a) with key in on, no engine? b) with key in on, engine on?<p>My 98.5 2.8 sits just above 12 until I turn on the engine, then it sits way high, around 16. Should I have this checked?

Haven't checked with engine off, but mine reads a little over 14V after engine has been on for a while. AS I remember, others have indicated the same reading (CHECK THE ARCHIVES!!!!!). If it consistently reads 16V, would think you have a charging problem - this could prematurely ruin your battery.<br>
