A few weeks ago I decided to get a new A4. So I found the A4.org site on the net and started reading the forums looking for reasons NOT to buy one. The first opinion I adopted, which I held until last week, was that you people were all simply fanatical about these cars. I just couldn't understand why you were all so excited about a car.
Last Friday I packed up my car and had a short drive home. My reaction - it was a nice car.
On Saturday I headed out early to the local coffee shop (about 1km away), but it took me half an hour to get there. I was almost to the shop when I suddenly made a right turn and headed into the sunrise. This was more than a nice car.
Later that day I abandoned any plans I had and went for another long drive. On Sunday I found every excuse to go out for something. I went shopping for three items, but when I got home I discovered that I had only one. Damn, I had to go out again! :-)
When I finally got home I polished the grime of the wheels. Observing this, my girlfriend said I was nuts. So be it. After spending a weekend with my Melange A4, I finally see what you people are talking about. I have become that which I thought I despised - an A4 fanatic.
Now I'm at work hoping the day passes quickly so I can drive home.
