Anyone grab the part number from the Hong Kong S4's headlights? I'd probably be willing to buy a pair and spend $500-$1000 on retrofit work... I bet others would be willing to pay in the similar range.
Cameron

View Full Version : Finally... real Xenon lights for the A4. Cameron 11-29-1998, 08:08 PM Anyone grab the part number from the Hong Kong S4's headlights? It is Tel.: +441 908 60 10 00. I got this off audi.com. You can also e-mail them at the link below. You might be able to ask them about the part, but most likely you will have to ask them for the number of a dealership in London.
If you do manage to do this I would be very intrested to know cost, and if it can be retrofitted to U.S. spec A4.
Hope this helps!
Stu Koch
99 2.8qts

E-mail Audi UK

Tomasz 11-29-1998, 09:28 PM If anyone needs any parts picked up here, I will be in CA on Dec 11.
Rich 11-29-1998, 10:28 PM Cathleen?
Sounds pretty outlandish to me, though I never fail to find humor (or disgust) in german auto replacement parts prices. The lights look really cool on all those A6's out there, though..
Sure wish we could get this all figured out--would like some better lights too..
Rich
'98 2.8Q sport, wussy lights Graham 11-29-1998, 10:52 PM The UK, (and Hong Kong, Japan and Australia for that matter) drive on the other side of the road, therfore the dip pattern will be to the opposite side.
Best to get a part number from continental Europe.
Regards
Graham Tomasz 11-30-1998, 02:24 AM I almost bought the screwed up lights. Wheew! Cathleen 11-30-1998, 06:34 AM I was talking about the OEM S4 Xenon lights; if you were to purchase them from an Audi dealership. Plus you would need to purchase a special wiring harness for the electrical conversion (my source is the tuner I use).
I don't know much about the aftermarket Xenon lights available yet. Hopefully, Hella will be selling the aftermarket version for less than the OEM ones they make and sell to Audi (and then Audi marks them up!)
Now, I don't know which "S4 Xenons" Cameron is talking about but I doubt they are from Audi. I already got pricing from my Audi dealer for them and they are in the $3k range.
I'm sure there will be some more reasonable aftermarket versions. After all, there's money to be made if they can sell them cheaper than Audi does.
-C. Cathleen 11-30-1998, 06:46 AM It's Monday and I'm piled up here at work....I read the post a little too fast and misunderstood what Cameron meant. He said he was willing to pay an ADDITIONAL $500-$1000 for the retrofit of the S4 Xenons and I thought he meant for the lights/each.
BTW, the guy in the above thread works for Hella and they are looking at importing them. I wonder if they have any idea what they plan to charge for them.
-C. Chris T. 11-30-1998, 07:55 AM I think right now LLTek is trying to negotiate the exclusive to distribute them. They are testing these headlights for any additional fitting requirements. They have an update on their site. Cameron 11-30-1998, 09:28 AM ... but it looks as though I'll be waiting a bit to get mine :(
Let's keep each other updated, seems like a small Xenon world at the moment.
Cameron
|
