parked in my parking structure at USC. I can't really control where I park, and I don't think changing my space would make much of a difference.
Mike

What do you guys think about getting some clear sidemarkers and then spreading some superglue or some adhesive on the inside with the installation? I mean... how often do those bulbs go out? Once every 4-5 years maybe? I've had turn signals that have lasted 10 years in other cars. Breaking a set of sidemarkers every 4-5 years to replace a bulb is better than having some punk steal my sidemarkers every time I get a new set. You think?
Mike

...what happens if the super glue pulls the paint off when you are trying to remove them. Also, you may end up with pieces of the light permanently attached, and difficult to remove before putting on the new ones. My suggestion: Don't park next to any Hondas that have holes drilled in the fender, but no lights! I pulled into one like that one time, and immediatly pulled back out and found a different spot.
Charles

...you could wire them like a stun gun and run current through there! ZAP! :-) Hmmmmm!!! Wish I could think of something, but I don't think the super glue is going to do the trick, and the stun gun approach is kind of far fetched!
Charles
Charles; I feel your pain. but if you superglue the side marker lights in place, the would be theives will just damage your car to get what they are after.
I have friende w/ soft top Jeeps and they all leave the tops down so no one will cut the expensive top to get to the cheap radio/speakers.
I wonder if there is a way to tie the sidemarker lights into the factory alarm system?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Robert Jordan
'97 1.8t/M/Con./B/CD/etc.

USC...now that's a scary neighborhood! Supermarket has a security guard and iron fence, and the Jack in the Box has bullet proof glass around the front counter.

Just last month our on-campus Starbucks got robbed by three armed men in bulletproof vests. They had all the students get on the ground and made off with a large sum of money. Luckily they were eventually caught.
Mike

Hey Robert,
I'm pretty sure someone familiar with auto security can wire any lights into the alarm system. Unfortunately, It's the plastic lense, especially the clear or smoked ones, they people are trying to steal.
Oh well. . .
James Wu
A4 Club of Vancouver
1998 Black/Onyx 1.8tqa

A4 Club of Vancouver

Superglue (cyanoacrylate) has a tendency to "melt" for lack of a better word the area of any plastic that it contacts. It distorts and sometimes softens the plastic which may even weaken the bond.
Kirk
