When choosing options I was wondering whether the DIS was of any use to me or whether it was a gimmick. I was also considering cruise control as a means of controlling my speed when driving in areas with low speed limits and on freeways/motorways. The problem I had with cruise control was that I felt out of control.
Here is the point of my post- The Drivers Information System contains a speed monitor alarm. There are two settings, a permanent which I have set to 85mph and a short term setting which resets when the car is powered off. The second setting I use when in 30/40mph restrictions. To me, this is an outstanding feature, I now spend less time glancing at the speedo and can relax more whilst driving.
The only concern I have, is if the police looked at my average speed on the computer after I had been driving on the Freeway/Motorway for 2 hours they would certainly see the average in excess of 70mph!
Alan.
