I'm about to lease my first Audi . .(she said smiling with anticipation) I wanted the pearl color that only comes in the '98 so dealers are searching for me . .its the 1.8, quattro w/sunroof, automatic, minus sport package and heated hoo-hahs. Best deal so far is $1200 down, on top of initial costs, and $350 per month, including sales but not property tax.
Being new to the Audi market, I'm curious as to whether this is a good deal . . I'd appreciate any feedback.

Sounds good. But try NOT to focus on the monthly payment but the PURCHASE price. Even thhough the car is leased by you, it is still purchased by the bank. The quote that you got - how much over invoice was it. You can ask that of the dealer, and I believe they are obligated to tell you.
Tomasz

I can't remember if it was a 2.8 or 1.8T (and I know it's not exactly what you want) but I test drove a pearlescent A4 at Lasher Audi in Sacramento on October 11th. A friendly (no pressure) sales rep to contact is Jan Parker. (916)-421-9260. You can make a great deal on a 98 since the dealers really want to move them to get their 99 allocations. Use the fact that this car doesn't have what you want to get a good price. Although since I just ordered mine, I understand your plight.
Matt

Thanks for your responses, I appreciate the feedback. With the info I gleaned from surfing the Audi and blue book sites, I figure dealer invoice on the 98 with tiptronic, quattro and the roof package round about $25,152. With $500 over that for the dealer and perhaps $1200 down -- how does the monthly payment stack up now? Susan
