Usually it is done directly with the chip tuner( Wett, TAP, Hoppen/MTM, etc) via removing the ECU yourself (there is plenty of info in Archives on how to) and shipping it to them. This means down time.<br>There are some select tuners that have ECU's ready for chipping and will send it to a local tuner which will swap them.

I mailed my ECU into Wetterauer and they returned it "chipped".<p>Alex
