Default Calling Mishar "RVC Retrofit"

Mishar, [and all others of course] I believe you have a 05 A8, and you do not have thee TV tuner, So you are looking to use the J772 module from a Q7 Part number: 8T0 907 441 C instead.

I gathered this info from this site from "Audis or VWs 4Life" and from "QuattroWorld / Dan McBoost and FlyTyinFool" along with info from Jim Ellis Audi parts department and website.
Jim Ellis parts dept. states that the "8T0" is strictly for the A4/S4 and the A5/ S5, and that when the site lists "alternate stock codes" for the "8T0" such as "4L0 907 441 A" that they are just factory codes and are not a cross reference.

Here is what I gathered while searching this issue, You will need thee following pieces of equipment,

1) MMI control Head with FBAS connector part # 4E0 035 729 A

2) PDC [Park Distance Control) part # 4E0 910 283 D or higher E,F,G,H to replace PDC # 4E0 919 283 A,B or C, as for the following reasons shown below,

4F0 910 283 A - 4 sensors, no graphical support
4F0 910 283 B - ?
4F0 910 283 C - 8 sensors, graphical support
4F0 910 283 D - 4 sensors, graphical support
4F0 910 283 E - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 F - 4 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 G - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 H - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support

3) Can gateway 4L0 907 468, or 4L0 907 468 B
"This a newer can gateway that knows about the backup camera system."

"4E0 907 468G would work as well and would be required if you have distance cruise control."

"Those of you with distance cruise control that plan this mod be very careful in the parts you buy to keep compatibility with this feature."

4)Camera Control unit 4E0 910 441/Alternate Stock Code 4L0907441A
This will be the central hub where everything comes together.

Now what you [Mishar] listed "8T0 907 441 C" is shown as below.

Stock Code 8T0907441C/ Additional Notes J772/Alternate Stock Code 4L0907441A; 4L0907441B; 8T0-907-441; 8T0-907-441-A; 8T0-907-441-B; 8T0907441; 8T0907441A; 8T0907441B

Thanks. I know about the rest. I would like to use 8T0 907 441 C instead of 4E0 910 441 because it is more than twice cheaper.

Okay, but I wonder about the "8T0" for use in a A8 D3, could there be a software glitch or something to do with model as to why it shows all over that the 8T0 is only for a4/s4/a5/s5, will the 8T0 allow pop up of the MMI screen, as in will the 8T0 show proper graphics along with reverse cam at same time like the correct module would, just thinking aloud.

check these out.

Default it's like this

Part # 4F0 910 441 is the SW, 4L0 907 441 is the HW, this is correct for an A6

Part # 4L0 910 441 A or B is the SW, 4L0 907 441 A or B is the HW, this correct for a Q7

Part # 4E0 910 441 is the SW, 4L0 907 441 A is the HW, this corrct for an A8

Part # 8T0 907 441 C is the SW, and 4L0 907 441 A is the HW, and the is correct for the A4/A5

Could it be that you switched SW <> HW?

Default I don't think so.

Here are some pics, the 8T0 907 441 is the software number and the hardware number is as shown "HW 4L0 907 441 A" on the camera control module for use in the A4/A5, the 4E0 035 729 on the MMI control head is a hardware number, so is 4E0 035 729 A, with the difference being the FBAS green connector, the SW numbers are also shown, also notice the MMI CH with hardware number 4E0 035 729 and Software 4F0 910 729 B for use in a A6, or this one linked below with HW # 4E0 035 729 and SW 4F0 910 731 B.

You are right. It is interesting that they have same hardware and different software. Also they are listed by software, not hardware number as usual.

The easiest way is to send your mmi control to naviservice in poland, and have them add the FBAS connector. They will add the connector, unlock the video in motion etc, all for around $100. If you buy a used mmi control unit, then you will need to get the component protection removed, and you will spend just as much, and go through more hassle and having to deal with the stealer. I used the RVC controller from and A6 on mine. The camera also came from an A6. As for the wiring harness, you can order this from Kufatec in Germany, and it is pretty much plug and play. I am not sure about needing a different park distance control unit, since I just coded mine, and it worked. You will need to change the CAN gateway though. I have a spare one for an A8, which will work as long as you dont have ACC. If you have ACC you will need a different gateway.

Thank you. I read about guys from Poland. That's what I plan to do with the one I have but I don't want to drive around "blind" while waiting for it.

Component Protection wise, are you sure that MMI Control Head is protected. In the other tread here guy just changed it and it works. Followed some strange procedure of "draining power". Anything about that?

PM me with details about Gateway.
