So I have my 2011 Q7 sline in for 15K service and the dealer gave me a 2011 A8 as a loaner. Nice, right? A8 is smooth with tons of bells and whistles but just not me. Especially not at $90K. However there are a few things it has that Im wondering why the Q7 doesnt have.

1. Why cant you stream music via bluetooth in the q7? In this A8 I can do it from music on my Iphone and even Pandora. That seems to be nothing but a hardware issue that can be upgraded in the Q7 but audi doesnt seem to offer it. Why?

2. Folding mirrors: When you shut the A8 off the mirrors fold up. Very cool feature. Again not in the Q7. Hell my friends new Toureg even does it.

3. Navigation seems a little different too. I was under the impression all 2011 model yr audi vehicles had the same navigation system. Guess not.

All in all its a very impressive vehicle but it should be for $89K plus. Im stuck with it for the weekend while a part comes in.

Could be worse I suppose.

Yup I totally agree with you..

1. 2012 model Q7 now supports bluetooth streaming (A2DP)... 2011 has the same hardware, just different software. Audi "could" release an software update to give us that feature

2. This one is just stupid. Even the Q5 has it. European version of Q7 has it. Almost the entire Audi Lineup has it. EXCEPT for the US-Q7 WTF!!

3. Nav is probably the google earth version of NAV... that's 2012 feature

Are you guys talking about the folding upon locking? I ask, because I would love for this to happen on out Q7. I do have the power folding mirrors, they just don't fold automatically.

yes folding up after you turn off the car. My Q7 mirrors fold when you turn the knob but not automatically
