Hello everyone,

I've been following the forum since 2005, and since then owned two 2.8 A4s and one A6 2.7T (6sp. manual, GIAC, K&N...)

The question I have is about my current A6 2.7. I just replaced the auxiliary water pump, and noticed that the intake bottom is slightly covered in oil. Everything underneath the intake looked OK at a first glance, so I was wondering what are the usual suspects in this case? I'm probably missing something...

i have 1986 ford f-150 i noticed the same thing, but mine is carburated. i think it might be a pcv valve sucking in oil?

The turbo naturally causes oil residue and buildup in the intake. From the look of it, its using the intake temp sensor as a drain, lol. I would replace the o-ring on the temp sensor.

Thanks for the tips guys! Both the temp. sensor o-ring and the PVC valve make sense.
