How many miles have you put on your s4 since the tune and have you had any problems? Was it worth the 1800 for you? Thanks I'm ready to do it but still concerned about the warranty issues that could come up. Just bought my 2012 s4 and love it but would like to get a little more juice out of her.

Thanks and glad to hear. Dropping off the car next Sat for the flas. How confident are you with the warranty from Stasis?

I just got my car back from AUDI after the S4 Tune. $1800.00. There is a clear difference in performance in the upper RPMs, just like the Dyno results would suggest on the Stasis site. I have about 150 miles since the flash, but I've been leaning on her since it's so much fun. I think it's well worth the upgrade, and a good tune if you're not going the route of further mods such as the stage II APR pulley/chip setup.
Re the warranty; as others have suggested on this list, the warranty is transparent to the user. The Audi agency assured me that they and Stasis would work out who pays what in case of a failure, and that any failures on warranty, whether the fault of the tune or not would be covered. Not to worry, but good to "check, but verify" with your agency.

I got mine after 2 years and 24k miles. Had it on for probably 200 miles. I would say it's definitely worth it. Just echoing what everybody says, but it just keeps pulling to redline. I never felt the car was slow in stock form, but the difference is pretty noticeable if your banging through the gears now. It just feels more urgent.
I almost wish Audi's stock tune was more like the Stasis tune, just to read the magazine reviews. :-)

15K miles, no issues. Well worth the $$, IMO.

20k miles no problems. Drives like stock unless u go to higher RPMs.

I'm worried that the ecu update could be lost with a warranty(service) update. That is what the stasis rep told me. My buddy works as a BMW service writter and he stated that BMW diamond would have to download it again if there was a issue. Has this ever happened to someone in this forum and is this Audi policy? Thanks!

If this ever happened APR would just reflash the ECU, worst case you'd have to pay for shipping. That said, and especially if you go with Stasis, I would just ask your dealer to tell you before they do anything to your ECU.

Exactly, though Audi RARELY have updates for the ECU. The MMI, or other electronics (Mechatronic on DSG's, new software for the Sport Diff, etc), but there has been exactly zero ECU updates to this platform since launch in the US.

Owners,
new to the site, new to audi.I picked up a '12 s4 white, carbon premium everything but the dynamic cruise control.....still waiting on my back up cam.
So I'm looking to upgrade to the tour package; exhaust, ECU, suspension and was wondering about the following:
MPGs -the car is our daily driver and with gas at $4+ was wondering if anyone has gas mileage data after the upgrade. Stasis/Audi have been saying 10% drop. I've been getting around 18/22 mpg - can't seem to keep my foot out of it.
Suspension - Stasis drops it 1.3ish. Anyone put coil spring spacers in the back to keep the ass from dragging?
Spacers - anyone pushed out the wheels with spacers after the lower? I plan on keeping the stock gunmetal rims for winter - might upgrade to some lightweight wheels come spring for summer/track use.
Thanks in advance.

1) I don't think the ECU mod has a significant affect on the MPG as long as you're not on it all the time.
2) I've seen no need to raise the back end of the car, even when loaded.
3) I have some 20mm spacers that were on my car when I bought it. (for sale, if anyone wants them) Looked good, but I'm not a fan of spacers so I took them off. Here's a pic with the spacers still on (Touring suspension):
I still average 30 mpg post-tune. The relatively few times I'm 'on it' (~ once per commute) seems to be offset by the somewhat denser charge. It's all good. :)

The only time the Stasis (APR 91) tune will affect gas mileage is when you are heavy into SC boost all the time. In that case, higher boost, more fuel, worse gas mileage. driving less than full tilt, the gas mileage is the same.
Best case after the Stasis ECU tune was about 28.1 mpg on a flat land freeway, in cruise control most of the time.
Worst case before the ECU tune with heavy boost all the time in town was about 10.5mpg, after the tune, I was able to hit 8.9mpg.
Under normal driving the gas mileage is the same with/without the ECU tune. It all depends on how heavy your throttle foot is & how fast it moves.

Not true. The more aggressive timing that you get as a result of the tune being geared for 91 octance and up (vs having to account for the tards who might run 87 or 89 on stock) means that you're getting more power out of the same amount of fuel, on-boost or off. Thus, your engine is working more efficiently resulting in better mileage.

Dude - it's not even CLOSE to that simple in real life, and your conclusion is flawed as a result.
I'll leave it at that.

I have an A5 4-banger (yes, I know this is the S4 forum, but I do have a StaSIS tune and therefore my prior input).

No. No, No, more boost means more fuel unless you run more lean. This only affects the fuel usage, when engine is running above normal OEM boost levels. The timing cannot be advanced much for the 91 octane tune. For the 93 or 100 octane tune, the timing improvement on on power & gas mileage should be more noticeable.

More boost does mean more fuel, but to say that boost is the only thing affected by the tune is incorrect. When you're running below ~5500 RPMs where the bypass valve opens stock, you're not going to be making any extra boost and and the gains you get are going to be a result of timing advances (they are there, even on 91) and changes to the fuel mixture (leaning it out, etc.). As long as you're running below ~5500 where the extra boost comes into play from the bypass valve staying closed, you're going to see better economy all else equal. The aftermarket has the advantage of not having to worry about people filling up with 87 octane and not having to worry about emissions requirements, etc.

That assumes there is more room (before detonation) to add timing using 91 octane fuel, on the Stasis 91 ECU tune, when boost is below the maximum OEM level. Not sure how much room this is to add to timing advance over stock.

I am guessing (but it's a guess. APR would have to confirm) there is some. Nearly all cars have SOME room to add timing when using at least 91 octane, even your higher end ones that are supposed to run on premium.
