Hey folks. I have a 2005 A6 with the 4.2 v8.

Lately I have notices that when the car is cold and you accelerate form a stop, the throttle/acceleration pulsates pretty bad (like, gas/break/gar/break) only really when you floor it. It seems like it may be a fuel delivery problem, or maybe traction control getting confused (even though the TC light doesn't come on)?

Anyway, there are no codes in the ECU that seem to indicate a problem and once the car warms up, it seems to be fine. Took it to my audi guy and of course it wouldn't do it while there (it wasn't cold).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Take a look at the engine section of the TSB library linked in my signature. It looks like you may need a software update.

Hmm, I took a look and most of the things in the list that seem close to what I am experiencing are for the wrong year and/or engine. However, I will mention this to my mechanic.

I really don't want to take it to a dealer, but if it's a ECM update thing, they may be the only ones that can determine that (while charging me up the a$$ for it). :(

Had the same issue on my 4.2. It was the MAF.
