Recently I (well, my car) was fortunate enough to be a part of the development for the first polyurethane B5 A4 RS4-style bumper. As mentioned above, polyurethane, is a strong yet lightweight plastic which is very resilient to impact and damage/deformation – making it an excellent choice for bumper material.

I checked over the entire bumper, and couldn’t find any area where its thickness was less than 1/8”, which suggests to me that it will not rip/tear. But even in the odd chance that it does (other than from an accident) there is a lifetime warranty to back you up. The manufacturing appears pretty near flawless, and even the back-side of the bumper shows a lack of imperfections. Perhaps one of the best things about it in terms of manufacturing, is that it is MADE IN THE U.S., not too far from where I live (I visited their facility). Don't have to worry about a low-quality Chinese product here.

One of the nice features about a bumper like this especially for those with the 1.8T is extra space to fit a FMIC. During the fitting of the bumper the guys at the shop would remove my FMIC to ensure stock-like fitment, but after getting the final product it doesn’t look like they actually had to modify the bumper to fit my particular FMIC (core: 22x6x2.75). And yet there is still more room to spare! So, onto a couple of my pics:

Hard to believe my car hadn’t been washed in 1-2 weeks prior to these pictures... I’ve got some RS4-style skirts to paint/throw on and will be painting the rear lower valence soon as well! Also planning to add some black mesh to the bumper grilles and side vents.

I was wondering if you used your rebar for the install?

Yes, my stock bumper support was used for the installation of this bumper.
