Much to my surprise a truck pulled up in front of the dealership Friday with THIS!

(Crap iPhone pics will have to do for now!)

It was such a cool experience to get to check in and unwrap my own car. I had a bit of a hand in it with the TTS, but not like the A6.

Here she is right before the PDI after I just finished unwrapping her. (Suspension shipping blocks are still installed.)

By the end of Friday she was through PDI and had a basic clean-up. I took her for a breif maiden voyage that night...what a fun car to drive! I'll have to report back with more later. I didn't really want to have her on the road for very long without being properly detailed and protected (and INSURED!)

Finally, how cool is this night vision system with pedestrian highlighting?!

Best of luck with your new ride!

Nice that you got to see her removed from truck & unwrap her!

I have same car & color just not the 20" wheels which really are great looking!

Thanks, guys!

It was great to see those first Phantom Black pics, Barry.

I hope to get the wheels changed over tomorrow. It's going to be a busy week for the A6 with pictures to follow.

Monday - Tint and hopefully wheel changeover
Tuesday - Prepping and initial polishing for stone guard
Wednesday - 3M Stone Guard
Thursday - Final polishing, exterior and interior finish and dressing
Friday - Take her home and pictures!

So changing wheels? Why did you order 20" sport package then? For the tires?

Let us know how the wheel swap is coming along. I am excited to see the 20" 5-arm rotor wheel on the car, and if it is going to need a further drop or not. Must be a fun day for you...

I was thinking the same thing. I ordered the 20" sport package myself, so that I didn't have to buy aftermarket rims...at least for the first year or two.

S Line Sport Package in Canada consists of the following:

S line exterior
Sport suspension
20" 5-Y Spoke Alloy Wheels with Performance tires: 255/35 R20
Aluminum door sills w/ S-line badge
Multi-function heated 3-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles
Matt brushed aluminum inlay
Black interior headliner

So no, I didn't just do it for rubber. LOL! As I've mentioned in a few other posts I absolutely love these 20" 5-spoke "Rotor" design titanium finish wheels but they are not an option in North America.

Don't get me wrong, I like the stock wheels...a lot...I just don't love them. I also have a few interests in the wheels the car came with so there is no loss on my part. I had the new wheels installed today but it started to rain almost as soon as I got my hands on the car again so no pics.

Here's a couple from yesterday after I cleaned it right after the tint went on. 15% on the rear and 50% up front. Front tint is illegal where I live so you have to keep it light to avoid unwanted attention.

Great looking car. I love the look of black cars but took too much effort to maintain so I decided to go with a compromise colour, Dakota Grey (would have chosen Daytona Grey if available in Canada but colour only in Europe). I love the ti wheels (is currently on my S4 which I special ordered but, with mixed feelings, will be trading-in for the A6 this weekend). I might get similar aftermarket wheels when buying snow tires. Please post when you get your new wheels mounted as I would like to see how it looks on the A6 (although, probably better looking on your black car than my Dakota Grey). Are you planning to mount 18 or 19 inch snow tires?

Thanks, carbuff_2! The first 2012 A6 I saw in the flesh was Dakota Grey in March. The colour totally suits the lines of the A6. However, Daytona Grey is my favourite grey and one of my favourite Audi colours. (I owned a 2007 RS4 in Daytona for short while.)

I actually considered letting my Phantom Black go to wait for a Daytona Grey A6. Daytona was on the original order guide for the 2012 A6 but was pulled from ordering when the paint pigment shortage was announced. I knew it would come back but no one knew when. It was just recently re-added to the list of colour choices. It is only available with the S Line Sport Package, which suited me fine. Once I saw my Phantom Black A6 though, especially with the 20" Rotor wheels installed today, I knew I made the right choice.

I may be swapping my the 20" wheels that came with my A6 for a set of 19" S6 wheels or a set of 19" R8 GT titanium (front) wheels. If that doesn't happen I'm not sure yet what I'll do for winter wheels. I originally thought 18" but I'm afraid they might look too small to me after seeing the 18" wheels on the car for half of the year.

There were a few delays getting 3M Stone Guard installed on the car so she isn't completely finished being detailed, but here's a few pictures from the dealership on Friday...

Fascinating that those 20's make that massive brakes look small. Those titanium rotor wheels look great on the car. What rubber did you use?

Thanks! I used the stock rubber (Pirelli P-Zero 255/35R20) that you can see on the wheel picture (http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6123/5971302474_743164e4cd_b.jpg) in my first post in this thread.

As soon as someone comes to the plate with software and exhaust...that's the next step. I'm hoping for Stasis or APR will have something soon. She needs a little more rumble!

The car looks great with the ti wheels and tint. I would like to tune the car as well. I assume the auto transmission would handle the increase in torque/horsepower with an APR/Stasis tune.

Tony Love these wheels & I thought the stock 20" were nice!

Favor: can you please tell me what the center bore "Hub" size is?
Since you just bought these new wheels I'm hoping you know for sure?
I'm guessing still 57.1 but might of changed for 2012 to 66.6 like most Audi's?
I want to change my wheels out but this is only thing stopping me @ this point.
My dealer & 800 # for Audi have no clue what the hub size is? Thanks much!
