View Full Version : Some more photos of the A7 to share aquarian 07-14-2011, 04:16 PM Took some more photos the other day. Enjoy! aquarian 07-14-2011, 04:17 PM more roho3323 07-14-2011, 04:45 PM Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!! AudiR8A7 07-14-2011, 05:02 PM Amazing. *DROOL* These pics have made me fall in love with the white. Looks so so so so so good. The back shot looks great!!! Thank you! Feel free to take some night time pic of the exterior and interior ;) I can imagine that I'll be driving the car a lot with the wing up. How about you? CharlieSlasher 07-14-2011, 06:20 PM Nice pics, post more! Something irks me about the wing up. I guess I don't mind the idea of it coming up automatically but I can't picture just having it up cruising around. Love the lines with it down. I think it's something about the angle of the wing? I might like it more if the front also raised a bit. I think it looks too tilted. To be honest we didn't spend too much time checking the wing out in person. Maybe I'll change my feelings when we go see it again... AudiR8A7 07-14-2011, 09:14 PM Think so? Something irks me about the wing up. Maybe I'll change my feelings when we go see it again... I looooove the wing. Thats actually what really sold me on the car along with the long break lights over the A6. S/O said the same thing about the wing. He was saying its too "arched" and he likes wings to be more "flat" like the R8...but I don't agree. I think the arch in the wing is what makes it look good. It matches the rest of the lines (like the arched turtle back of the car). o'BlueTouring 07-14-2011, 11:21 PM Gorgeous car.. I test drove a fully-loaded white Prestige yesterday too and loved it. Quick question: I know you can manually raise the rear spoiler, but once you activate it, will it lower itself when you shut off the engine or lock the door if you forget to manually lowering it? The demo car I drove yesterday had the rear spoiler stayed "up" after we walked away from the car. I think that's going to be a problem as people will try to yank that thing off or damage it. In the R8 I know that it stays up unless you turn it off manually. We leave it up a lot and we haven't had any problems with someone trying to damage it. I like that type of wing but it does look better to me on the R8 because its flatter (also like the venting on the R8). Since we still have 5 weeks or so until my wife's A7 arrives, we're going to be making another trip to the dealer soon to play with the car again. I'll check out the wing in person some more. We only checked it out for a few seconds. MichaelChicago 07-15-2011, 07:05 AM If you raise the wing with the dashboard button it will stay up until you lower it, even if you turn the ignition off. But if you let it rise automatically, it will lower itself when your speed drops below the set point (70 or 75 mph I think). aquarian 07-15-2011, 09:18 AM If you raise the wing with the dashboard button it will stay up until you lower it, even if you turn the ignition off. Actually, if you raise the wing with the button, the wing will stay up when you turn the ignition off. But the wing will automatically retract when you start driving after you lock and unlock the car. Interesting design. aquarian 07-15-2011, 09:23 AM R8's wing pops up when you reach above 60, and retracts when you drop below 20 (correct me if I am wrong). Perhaps with VAG-COM we can change the setting to something similar? A7's wing pops up when the speed is above 80 and retracts when it hits about 50-55, or so. aquarian 07-15-2011, 09:25 AM Here is a quick video on R8's wing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgWfSLVpWwM It appears to me that the angulation of the wing is steeper than the one from A7. Yeah, usually I notice it pop up/go down right around those ranges. lexusluver 07-15-2011, 06:59 PM If you raise the wing with the dashboard button it will stay up until you lower it, even if you turn the ignition off. I find myself speeding up to 80 to get it up. clintb 07-16-2011, 02:26 PM I believe that is so you can wash under the wing If it auto-retracted at ignition off, you'd have to leave the car on to wash (At least that's what it said in the manual for Bentley Continental GT... assuming the reasoning applies throughout the VAG group) Actually, if you raise the wing with the button, the wing will stay up when you turn the ignition off. But the wing will automatically retract when you start driving after you lock and unlock the car. Interesting design. |
