I've seen fog lights (as i call them) with or without the full LED headlights (or at least i think i have). what package are they with?

I think what you might be seeing are the radar units for the adaptive cruise control. They're in the lower corners of front fascia as conventional fog lights would be. The units themselves are opaque black. Mine has the full LED and the only fog light function is for the tailights. I don't know if fog lights are integrated within the headlight housing on the non LED system.

I believe front fog lamps were discontinued, and replaced by what they call all-weather lights that are incorporated into the housing on both the LED and xenon units. These lights are designed to reduce nighttime road glare in rainy/wet weather conditions, and they cast a wider sideways beam that illuminates the front sides of the car. I'll have to check the owner's manual on the specifics. And yes, the ACC radar units are located in the slots where the fogs used to be.

I was always accustomed to seeing ACC as one unit on recent cars (e.g. benz) -
I guess audi does it different (and probably better:))

Yes, although sometimes you'll get a message in the DIS saying "ACC Not available .. blah blah". Usually, the radar domes need a quick wipe with a damp cloth. It's a little embarrassing stopping and doing this, but necessary.

If the camera behind the rear view mirror is obscured by a dirty screen, the DIS tells you to clean it!

I thought there was a button for front fog lights in the full LED package in the US. I thought Audi integrated the fog lights into the LED headlights for the A8. I am not sure since I have not recieved my A8, yet. Can anyone give clarification on this? The three buttons to the left of the round headlight switch should be:

Front fog lights
Night view camera
Rear fog lights

I could be wrong and the front fog light switch might be on the Xenon headlight A8.

No fog lights period on A8. There is a button, but it's for the all-weather lights (as I described in above reply). I suppose you could also use them as fogs, but they're really designed to cut road glare in wet road conditions. The only true fog lamps are at rear lights.
