For those that have the A7, Audi never mentions that subscription to Sirius is complimentary. If so how will I be charged for the service?

The Sirius radio is free for several months (3 I think). At some point, the service will turn off and you will need to call Sirius and get set up for billing. Otherwise, you will not have it...

Yes, the dealer initiates the Sirius at delivery (or often prior if on the lot) and sends them the date of activation. In my case I got four months before the free trial period elapsed.

I just got the subscription info in the mail earlier this week from Sirius so they know you have activated and as usual I will wait until the end of the trial and then haggle for a better deal. Same I have done on the MDX and Vette. Then again, I cancelled the XM on the Vette after the headers and exhaust went on. Radio? Is the radio on?? Ha!

You will likely get a mailing from them in the next month or so.

You can do a bit of negotiating with them as your time permits. My friend seems to be able to get 5 months for $23 or a year for $77. He calls them and tortures them for up to an hour at a time 'til gets a better price. Personally, I don't have the time and don't use the service nearly as much as I thought I might. My iPod seems to be going 98% of the time, and the Sirius drops out frequently where I drive :(

The traffic information used by the navigation system is also supplied by Sirius and will be required to be renewed after your 3 to 4 month trial period runs out if you want to keep that working.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I had XM services on my old 06 Acura RL that included live traffic. After 3 or 4 years of subscription I stopped the service. I wasn't aware that Sirius merged with XM, though.

they have merged. I've got a GTI (Sirius) wife has XM on her TSX. No, you can't get them combined on the same bill yet (ridiculous). Personally I think Sirius blows and would dump it except I haggled them down to a lousy $8 per month after the freebie trial period was over. Wife loves XM, won't part with it for anything. I live between Baltimore & DC (Columbia, MD area) so HD radio rocks for me. Throw in an iPod and the only thing keeping me on Sirius is NFL and, at the rate the owners & players are going, I might be able to dump it anyway come this Septemeber! :-)
