View Full Version : Offsets on the A7 20" Sport wheel
roho3323 06-14-2011, 05:02 PM Anyone know the offsets on the wheels or any info on acceptable offsets for a winter setup.
My first Audi and the 20" Max Performance Summer tires won't cut the mustard in Michigan during the winter. Looking on this board to find a good used set of winter wheels/tires.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

JerryS4 06-14-2011, 05:37 PM Roho, been wondering the same thing myself. I was planning to see what Audi winter wheel/tire specials look like this Fall. They have had some pretty decent looking wheels with winter tires for about $2500. Seems reasonable for genuine German OEM wheels. The parts department at the dealer usually has small brochures around November.
Oh, one more thing. I installed 20 mm spacers to the rear wheels and man does the rear look bad-assed. Wide and low like a crouching jaguar.
gavin_gray 06-14-2011, 05:57 PM Can you post pics of your car with the spacers? Where did you get them?
roho3323 06-15-2011, 11:33 AM 20mm? Wow...that is wide. I knew that the rears had plenty of room, but I wouldn't have guessed that you can go 20mm. I plan on going ten. What about the fronts?
JerryS4 06-17-2011, 01:59 PM Here are three photos of the 20mm H&R spacers I installed on the rear wheels. Got them from Achtuning. Since my A7 has the regular suspension, I figure I should have plenty of clearence. I guess I will know for sure when I have four adults in the car. If any problems, I will come back to this thread and post. No spacers in the front just yet.
gavin_gray 06-17-2011, 05:38 PM Thanks for the pics, and cool to know there is an audi tuning joint so close to me in Seattle!

Yeah, it's cool to know that too! Too bad they don't have anything else for the A7 yet!

Ditto on the fronts... no spacers?
Also, do you have a 3/4 profile shot showing the spaced wheels?
roho3323 06-28-2011, 09:30 AM Also Tony... would you happen to know the Bore? Are they standard 66.56 or something else?
I am looking to put on some Audi S4 18" wheels for my winter setup.

66.56 or 66.6, depending who you ask.
gavin_gray 06-28-2011, 11:50 AM Forgot to ask - assume you needed new lug nuts as well?
CharlieSlasher 06-28-2011, 12:08 PM Dont think so...
With that size, the spacers come with their own bolts that mount the spacer to the hub and are recessed. Then your stock bolts bolt the wheel to the spacer.
For smaller size spacers its a different story.
Edit: Actually just realized that both styles come in 20mm. The DRA come in 20mm+ and use your stock bolts. The DR series only go up to 20mm and need longer bolts.
Longer bolts not necessary...

You'd need longer bolts for this style...

Tony, any idea on whether the TPMS sensors are the same on the A7 vs any other models?
Have an inquiry out to my local shop on some aftermarket wheels and since the A7 is so new he said he'd have to confirm first whether the sensors are the same as other cars in the line.
Any thoughts?

Hey Charlie,
You likely got this sorted already but the A7 uses passive TPMS so there are no TPMS sensors in the wheels/tires. You are good to go with any aftermarket wheels that are the right size and offset.
