I drove an Oolong Gray prestige with about every option except the cold weather package.
Coming from the S5 it is definitely a much more refined ride with better than expected acceleration and a sporty enough feel, that my fears of being a major step down in fun were put to rest. The big hesitation with me and this car is the S7 and whether it is worth the wait and additional $$.
The cockpit is very spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed the ventilated seats, although they were audible, and it souded like a window was cracked open behind me with the seats on full. Kind of weird having the start stop button on the passenger side of the Consol, but the rest of the mmi was laid out decently. I like having drive select on a button on the dash, but it looked like the car would save your last setting, instead of reverting back to auto, like the s5.
Bang and olufsen was ok, but Sirius sound quality is so marginal, that without a cd, it's hard to issue a verdict. Did not blow me away, but the only source I had was Sirius.
Back seats were fine. I'm 5 11 and would have no issue with head room. Leg room seems adequate. No rear seat heat without cold weather package.
Trunk was larger than i anticipated from the pictures.
The biggest plus for me is that the engine compared to the s5 is so smooth and ride so much more comfortable, while still very fast and ready to jump. Mileage on sticker is 18 city, 28 highway, which I haven't seen on any official site. Definitely a plus for me to get the added range with the large almost 20 gallon tank.
The night vision display was cool, was hoping for something to cross my path, butnhad to settle for watching hot spots on cars. The heads up display was better in action than I thought. Wasn't real distracting, and definitely keeps your eyes on the road.
I engaged the cruise control, but never had it slow me down, etc. However a led ring around the speedo records and displays the speed you set the cruise at for braking and resuming purposes.
The parking sensors are both front and rear, and in addition to the backup camera, there is a graphic that illustrates how close you are to any object, and what part of the front or rear is close.
In the color scheme I drove, it was all black interior, and I thought for the doors, the black could have used some contrasting color, I think I might have a prefrerence for the brown interior.. This is an area the s7 may have some better/cooler interior options. Carbon/contrasting stitching, etc. The sunroof is a little puny. I would take the tilt only panoramic from the s5 over the fully opening small one in the a7.
All in all though, it is a great car, nice presence on the road.
