Audi of America announced today that Peter Donnellan (from Lexus) takes over as Director of After-Sales. Hopefully they give him the resources to have an impact. Here's the link to the press release...

I would like to propose that you draft a letter, gather signatures and send it to him to congratulate him and let him know that we have high expectations of him/Audi (and we will be paying attention and give him feedbacks).

...however, not a bad idea for everyone at AW to send a congratulatory note, and to invite him to drop in on us here from time to time.

Exactly. You are our Super User and Leader.

What say you, others on this thread?

Anything would be better than the terrible experiences I have had ...

I have walked from the dealer to the associated rental agency on several occasions. Never have any loaner cars, regardless of how far in advance I schedule - even when I state that I will take whatever slot they have that has a free loaner car ...

Frequently give them detailed reports of problems, only to return days later and find that "we couldn't find that - maybe you can confirm it and bring it back in when you see it again" ... as if my time is worth nothing.

Really, really terrible. I am not interested in which engine or which doo-dad or what special wheels or whatever - I am interested much more in a trouble-free ownership experience which places a high value on my TIME.

My wife bought her first Lexus in 1992, an SC400, and she owned two of them and three SC430 coupes. The service was fantastic in the early years and she received royal treatment. However the Lexus service that she received in the last few years was just adequate.

Wow, these are the kind of experiences that almost made me not buy my D3.

Fortunately my dealership service department has been incredible.
They insist I have a loaner even if it's a minor service, and nothing has taken over 8 hours.
My Service Advisor has been honest with me and is a great guy, even doing little things at no charge.

It apparently varies from dealership to dealership from what I've read here and other forums.

Like jakematic, my dealer service experience has been exceptional, which definitely influences my purchase decision. I had my summer wheels put on last week and received an emailed survey link from JD Power of that service that I completed. It is the first such survey I recall receiving for my Audi. The sole problem I have had with the dealership over the 15 years I have been buying MB's, Porsche's and Audis from them was the "business" manager when I bought my car when the lease expired last fall, as I want to hold off until the D4 S8 is out. BMW routinely followed up with a call from their national office after every service visit on my 6 Series.
