I want to purchase the AMI as my glovebox changer does not play mp3's ridiculous when u consider the car is an 07.
my guy at the dealer tells me to install the ami i will loose the changer. i thought u could use both..changer on disc 1-6 and ami on 7-12 am i wrong? is there a special adapter that allows them to be used together?
any help would be great.
also i tried to order the mp3 player version of the glove box disc changer..but its only available for warranty replacement so u can't actually buy it so they tell me

You can have both CD changer and AMI installed in your car. You need to have either new glove box or modifying your glove box to fit them both.
You need to add one brand in the MOST bus and one electrical connection for the new device.

I have friend at audi getting me the individual parts...not sure if it will come with instructions
do u know of a link where the instructions are posted on line

update:
installed dual slot glovebox and the Ami unit with the retro kit
works great
very happy i went this route rather than the gateway...very easy to insatll
