Twice in the past week my airbag light (main console) has illuminated for a few seconds and then gone off. Just once. Both times I have been at a near stop (coming to a stop or just staring from a stop). The time today it stayed lit for about 10 seconds and then went off. Hasn't been back on since this morning. Any ideas?

I have a 2007 A4 manual tranny.

Thanks.

If I remember correctly from the old B5 days, this would happen sometimes due to bad electrical contacts on the airbag unit in the steering wheel, not sure how easy that would be to remedy on the B7 though...sorry I can't be of any more help..

The car did it again today. It happens under quick or sudden braking. I'm not locking them up so to speak, just the occasional more-than-average braking pressure. It illuminates for a few seconds and then goes off. Weird. Any ideas?

Thanks

I just bought a 2008 Audi last week and noticed the same thing. The dealer ran a diagnostic and it turned out to be a fault in the driver side seat belt. They replaced the buckle (Part number 8E0-857-755-N-01C)

Very helpful Mixmaster. Thank you. I'll have my guys run a check on her and see if my buckle has gone bad. Thanks again.

If there's a TSB on it (and my car is out of warranty) is the fix for free? I assume it has to throw a specific code? Thanks gang.
