I guess I didn't get this many responses to any post even when I had a car for sale... At any rate, my mailbox was flooded this morning with questions about my euro tail lights.
I compiled a list of everything I could think of, such as part #s, pictures of lights on and off, etc. If it's not on this page, I don't know :-)
Hope you find the info useful.
- Stan

Stan's 98.5 Euro tail lights

It only took us about 1.5 hours to install the 1998 red/white lights on my '96. I had to purchase 1998 bulb holders to reverse the order of the bulbs and we did a little switching of relays.
Funny how everyone wants amber now. I actually switched mine from amber, since I like the all red look on my red car. The Euro option is nice with the red lense/glowing amber upon use only. I believe that is how the U.S. Passat is now. I noticed it this on one of them this past weekend.
-Cathleen
P.S. Anyone who prefers the amber '96 lenses, I will sell mine with the bulb holders and can get you directions on install.
