BoostLover99 02-09-2011, 10:29 PM Better have a really broad torque curve across that 408 hp given that the C6 S6 makes 435 hp. It's also going to get left in the dust by the M5 that that power level. =( I *really* don't want an M5. Gear Junky 02-09-2011, 10:57 PM Better wait for the RS6 then if you don't want beaten by the M5. BoostLover99 02-09-2011, 11:23 PM Is there going to be an RS6 for the US in the C7 model? darkop 02-10-2011, 12:18 AM Better have a really broad torque curve across that 408 hp given that the C6 S6 makes 435 hp. RS6 will be coming in 2 years time and for the US market as well! Cheers Gear Junky 02-10-2011, 02:04 AM Better have a really broad torque curve across that 408 hp given that the C6 S6 makes 435 hp. The S6 will weigh less than it's competitor 2 - crown gear quattro. This evolution of quattro that was first introduced in the RS5 that reacts quicker than ever before and can appropericate more power to either axle 3 - Dual clutch transmission. It's rival has chosen to stick with traditional automatic which sap more power than Audi's S/tronic, not only that but automatics don't shift as quick either. 4 - 4 wheel torque vectoring. 5 - Sportdiff. BMW don't offer even as an option a LSD, never mind a torque vectoring LSD. BoostLover99 02-10-2011, 08:13 AM No question that the S6 will outperform. I'm fine with the S6 being positioned against the 550i but the problem is there's never more than one RS model at a time to compete with the BMW M models. And there's almost always an M5. That being said, the crown ring diff is killer, as is the sport diff. It's nice that we've finally caught up to what Mitsubishi has been doing with AYC and ACD for like 10 years. =) It'll be a lot longer (read: never) for Mitsu to try to catch up with our interior finish and NVH levels. ;) I'm not a fan of BMW's AWD strategy and wouldn't consider getting one unless the price differential was simply ridiculous. darkop 02-10-2011, 08:24 AM No question that the S6 will outperform. No worries.. This is gonna change with new product planning! We will see loads of new RS models at same time as the Mother-factory has taken over from Quattro GmbH some production capacity for Renn Sport on them selves! That would be awesome - do you know if they will be available in the US also? Gear Junky 02-10-2011, 10:04 AM That would be awesome - do you know if they will be available in the US also? Latest word from Europe is that S7 will arrive late '11, S6 will arrive early '12 and their respective RS versions approx 12 months there after. darkop 02-10-2011, 11:12 AM Latest word from Europe is that S7 will arrive late '11, S6 will arrive early '12 and their respective RS versions approx 12 months there after. Yes and both RS6/7 scheduled for US. BoostLover99 02-10-2011, 11:35 PM Yes and both RS6/7 scheduled for US. Excellent. Waiting eagerly for the RS6 then. Gear Junky 03-26-2011, 10:10 PM The word is that the S8 will receive the same 4.0TFSI as the S6 but will get 520hp, great news but this will differ dramatically from both the S6 and S8 out going models where the power difference was only 15hp. If true I am wondering whether the info of the S6 getting only 408hp is accurate. Gear Junky 03-31-2011, 03:42 AM It seems my earlier disbelief that the S6 would get 408hp are correct and it will according to Autocar (UK Car mag) get a slight increase in output over the last model of 5hp to 440hp. So lighter and more powerful. GREAT darkop 03-31-2011, 04:39 AM We've got official ETKA leaks that stated 408ps. So why would you believe in crap Autocar's estimates? |
