Instead of body color I am actually considering vinyl wrapping my aluminum mirrors in Matte Black. I would love to know if anyone has done this or if there are any photoshop Gurus that can show me how this will look. I think it will look good but I just want to get a full visual if possible.

imo matte black mirrors always come out ugly and cheap-looking. remember when only the more expensive version of a particular car got body-painted mirrors.? that's what it looks like...like you couldn't afford to have them painted. please don't do it.

If you have lots of black elsewhere, go for it. You can always peel it off again.

The mirrors are one of the limited features that makes our car stick from the plain Jane A4. I wouldn't do it. However, it's your car.

I agree with the fact that the mirrors do make it stick out but I wasnt going for that primered looking matte black lol I meant more of if you look at some mattte black wrapped M3s or M5s on Google images that crazy looking color its like grayish blackish smoke might look good.

Don't do it. Cheapens the car IMO.

the matte black wrapped cars (M3 etc) do look like primer. it's a satin, unglossed finish.

Agreed, I associate black mirrors with the "cheap model" (i.e. Honda Civic DX vs EX).

With that said, I don't know why BMW opted for black mirrors on the 335is - but I digress.

It's gloss black though. Anything shiny gives a sense of luxury, that's why chrome is used often in many luxury cars. The 335is' window trim is also in gloss black which is much better that matte. The 335is still looks expensive though even with all the black trim due to the wheels, headlights, LED tails, and the overall package. Hard to explain, but if it's done right it can work.

wow - i didn't realize that. BMW has generally always gone with body color mirrors. My old 330 had body color and my wife's new X5 has body color.

Black mirrors are cheap looking - it screams: "we just bought a bunch of cheap black plastic to shoot these parts - why bother painting them..."
