I think the V8 will be limited to the upcoming 2012 S7 in late 2011. Pretty sure the top line U.S. spec engine will be the 3.0TFSI supercharged V6. I would have loved to see the 4.2 V8 in the A7 version also.

Although they didn't show any sunroof variant at the debut, I'd expect there will be a sunroof option in the Order Guide; perhaps even a paneramic roof. The only thing that might preclude this would be if there wasn't enough headroom, in as much as the car does sit pretty low---But if the low profiled A5 can have at least a tilting sliding sunroof, then the A7 should be able to handle it.

From what I've read/been told, the car's U.S. availability won't start until early 2011 so we probably won't see an Order Guide for this model until sometime this Fall.

Yes, the 4.0 TFSI V8 will be introduced very shortly, in a month or two, in the S7 only with 395hp on tap. Don't know what that means for the US introduction but most probably simultaneously with A7 at start of 2011.

The German order guide doesn't show panoramic roof so I doubt we'll see it anytime soon. The only thing you see is a sunroof option for 1130 Euro (yes not standard and neither is leather in Europe and this car starts at 52K Euro).

I've heard 3.0 TFSI V6 would be base engine for US which I think is plenty for this car. Plus that engine is already 59K Euro's in Europe. I think rather V8 will be only in the S7.
