It looks alot like leather...only it has small holes (perforations) in it to allow it to breathe. Our 1.8Ts here were not able to get leather...only leatherette and cloth fabric. I have the old chenille cloth velour...which is now not available...good thing...it is a lint magnet.<p>Steve S.<br>97 2.8QM<p>P.S. In fact it looks better after 10 months than the so-called real leather in my 1995 eclipse.

We sold my wife's '87 5000S SW a year-and-a-half ago w/150,000+ mi., two kids, two dogs, annual beach trip, multi-annual ski trips, love, war, and everthing in between, and the leatherette was LIKE BRAND NEW the day we sold the car!<p>Just my $.02

My 1996 A4 2.8Q has leatherette and looks fine. Nways i don't have the time to clean and condition real leather... This is Canada it gets cold and hot here.
