Fell in love with this car the first moment I saw it!
Currently drive a 2008 A6 4.2 (Phantom Black/Black Interior, with lots of added options......anyone interested in a used A6 with only 26,000 miles?
I'm excited to say the least!
Scothawk 06-14-2010, 07:53 PM Should have mentioned.....I live in Iowa, (Midwest, USA).
Brozee 06-14-2010, 08:00 PM Great to hear man you added a ton of options. Those options must have alone cost more than a normal everymans car lol. How much did it run you total?

To tell you the truth I don't know the cost yet! I'm crazy I know but pricing won't be released until close to delivery. My dealer estimated 95-100k with all the options. Hopefully she's close! :)

You ordered pretty much the same equipment setup (delete the B&O; add Panorama Sunroof)that I'm contemplating when I order my car in December.
I'll take a wild guess the MSRP on your car will be about $104,700. So you're probably right around the high-end of your salesperson's estimate on negotiated/sale price.
Can't wait to see how the Nougat Brown looks in real life.
Congrats!!!
Scothawk 06-15-2010, 06:40 PM Just curious. The panoramic sunroof.... I'm assuming it can't be opened? Also is their an internal cover that can be drawn over it to block light?

The front roof panel can be opened, while the rear tilted---both have interior covers. According to Audi's press information: "Both sections can be tilted up and the front one also opened extra-wide. Sun blinds are provided for both panels to keep out direct sunlight."
Emauss 06-16-2010, 06:10 AM ...has the front panel sliding over the rear panel when opened. I don't beleive the rear panel tilts on the Merc. If it does on the Audi it is a nice feature.

According to the info on the AoA press site, the rear does tilt up---so, yes, would be a nice feature for those in the rear seats.
However, they don't say anything about whether the rear panel can be tilted with the front roof panel opened---or for that matter, if the front panel can be fully opened the way the standard sunroof can be opened; the description they provide is: "can be opened extra wide". This doesn't necessarily denote that it completely opens. Will have to see what info comes down the pipeline on this.
Emauss 06-16-2010, 08:12 AM ...the Merc looks very "unusual" with the front panel open and over the rear panel. I passed one of the road the other day really had to look twice at it. Velly Intellestink....ugly, but intellestink
jetinder 06-25-2010, 08:29 PM Hi
One of my local dealers has a demonstrator with nougat brown, it does look very sleek inside. When my wife saw it, she said we should have gone for that instead of black ! But naturally, it was too late to change.
I'll email them and ask if they can take a picture of it and send it to me so I can put it up here.

Emauss 06-26-2010, 01:47 AM That's the first of heard. That is a very good thing!

Trust me, you won't be let down. The look I get from people when they see the front lights/indicators is very amusing. Some that I've seen have done a double take :-)
I was looking at mine today in the bright sunshine with the dealer, the havannah black is just amazing... see if you can get a look at the sample in the sun. It's almost got a tinge of brown in it and is subtly different to the classical phantomn black.
Good luck.
ahg54 07-15-2010, 02:48 AM Does anyone know what the dealer cost and/or the sticker prices will be for the 2011 A8 and 2011 A8L?
Emauss 07-15-2010, 03:28 AM The European prices were just released (July 12th according to Motorward (http://www.motorward.com/2010/07/2011-audi-a8-l-european-pricing-announced/).
They are expected here (according to my dealer) sometime in August...but that is just an educated guess.

I don't have A8 L but my new A8 has the updated manual which describes A8 L features too, Ls panoramic roof also. since regular A8 has no panoramic roof this must apply to A8 L.
It says the panoramic rear panel can only tilt up when the front panel sliding is closed.. and viceversa front can only slide open when the rear is not tilted up to avoid collision. both can be tilted up at the same time though or front slid fully open above the rear panel when rear is closed. front slides over the rear panel in A8 L.
regular A8 has a normal single piece sunroof that slides in the roof.
manuals might be imprecise or incorrect but that is what it says at least.
jprescott 08-24-2010, 03:12 PM Unless there was a recent update the S550 Panorama does not open(not on mine ). I do love the look from inside the car and will definitely order this option when I go back to the A8
Emauss 08-25-2010, 03:16 AM Panorama Sunroof
A large dual-panel glass Panorama Sunroof provides both front- and rear-seat passengers with a view of the sky. The front panel can either tilt open or slide over the rear panel to open completely. Independently operated interior power sunshades cover both glass roof panels.
