Hi everyone,

I recently bought an A5 and did European Delivery. I guess I wasn't very smart when I overlooked the fact that Prestige package doesn't include the parking sensors or rear-view camera, which are part of the Driver's Assist package instead. I actually found out in Germany when I saw my car the first time and thought it was a mistake in the build!

Anyway, the car's on its way back to Chicago, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to retrofit a rear parking sensor after delivery. I don't need a camera per-se, just "beep-beep-beep" signals that helps me park. I would love to avoid bumper dings because I live in the city.

Thanks in advance!

You have two choices - install an aftermarket unit which is cheap but doesn't look stock (about $150-200 installed)
Or do the factory retro-fit which includes getting all the necessary hardware from Kufatec.com + new rear-bumper with cut-outs for the senors + painting everything ($3000 plus)

Easy choice if you must have the sensors

I didn't get the Driver's Assist on my Prestige package which I now regret. I talked to a very reputable Car audio house and they said it will be about $1500 to get the correct kit, new camera and installation for a very professional job into the MMI. I'm in LA so I'm sure a good house in Chicago can do this. Good luck.
