I'm considering moving from my 01 TT to a Q5. The TT has been pretty reliable, but my cluster seems to be starting to go. I tend to keep my cars for a while, so I'm wondering if more add-ons (NAV, DRC, etc) = more to go wrong. Seems more modules to support more features increases the chances of problems. Thoughts?

I am 68 yo and have owned many cars (Audi's, Porsche, M-B, Peugeot, Renault and others like a Chevy Corvair) over the years. My feeling is "yes" - the more features the more likelihood of problems/issues. I don't see all features as equal in status, however. Some are (these days) must-haves, others are more like gimmicks or toys. I would order what you feel you really need and leave the others go. It saves money upfront and that savings can be useful to fix whatever does go wrong many years down the pike (you did say you keep cars for a while). The problem with Audi and many brands is the bundling of features into packages or trim levels. It may be that to get something you really feel will make for a better driving machine, it will be bundled with superfluous stuff like power seat pre-sets, etc. My 2 cents. These days replacing LED DRL's can be as costly as a set of tires - go figure.
