I have a 2006 A4 Avant and I have an opportunity to get 4 FREE studded snow tires. Size 205-65-R15. I went to a tire site and compared these to the stock 235-45-R17s and the snow tires are .16 inches larger in diameter.

Other than the MPH difference, is there any issue with using these tires? Will they rub? Will the brakes fit in a 15 inch wheel? Am I not thinking of something?

15" wheels will not fit over the brakes on this car, sorry.
