View Full Version : When will the Audi S4 2011 year model be available for ordering?
DarthRay 12-20-2009, 01:32 PM I'm planning my ED order for the Aug-Sep/2010 time frame so it will fit with our other plans, including the trip to pick up the car around Nov/2010.
At that point we will know about the new 2011 model, I assume. The question is when is the soonest one would be able to place an order for a 2011 year model Audi S4? Does anybody know if that's correct?
Thanks.
vic007 12-21-2009, 05:59 AM I was told by a Miami dealer that by June / July 2010 they'll have the ordring material

That's good to hear, vic. Thank you for that information. I hope the dealers in the Seattle area follow the lead. :)
DarthRay 01-07-2010, 12:10 AM Just wanted to post an update on this. Two local dealers confirmed the June/July time frame to be able to order the 2011 model.
Thanks!
K2audi 01-27-2010, 12:17 PM Which dealer are you going with? We went through Barrier.
DarthRay 01-27-2010, 12:36 PM It's not clear to me yet. After I read the ED dealer guide it became clear to me that the 5% off MSRP is the starting point of the negotiation. It may be naive of my part, but I was planning on sending e-mail to the closest 3 or 4 dealers and ask for their best deal. That has probably been done before but I wanted to give it a shot.
Also, there's a small chance a friend of mine will join me for this ED, ie. he may actually buy his car the same way, at the same time. I'm hoping the weight of two simultaneous purchases may help in the negotiations. I hope he decides to jump in. We'll see.
K2audi 01-27-2010, 08:03 PM Good luck, would like to know who gives you better than the standard 5%. I might try them the next time we go. We almost did euro delivery again right after we did our first one a few years ago but since the S5 was such a new car at the time no local dealer would give up their allocation for a euro delivery.
S4Roch 06-18-2010, 10:51 AM Not sure how Canada and the States differ but I ordered my 2011 Audi S4 on May 1, 2010, in Canada, and it is scheduled to arrive July 26, 2010.
joelk01 06-18-2010, 03:48 PM I am not clear about ED pricing. With whom do you negotiate the price? The Manhattan Audi dealer told me that the dealer isn't the negotiating party since you are not buying the car from them. So, I do not understand if the price is even negotiable and, if so, with whom do you negotiate? thanks for any help in clarifying this for me.
carpoor 06-22-2010, 11:30 AM I "ordered" a 2011 S4 for Euro Delivery in Sept 2010 last month (May 2010). The dealer took a deposit and submitted an order based on 2010 options. They told me that when the 2011 ordering guide comes out they may need me to change some things but that to get a production slot for my timeframe this was the best way to do it. I got a confirmation from the Audi of America rep via email to the dealer but have yet to receive anything directly. They told me it would be a few weeks. I am expecting to finalize the sale sometime in late July.
joelk01 06-22-2010, 03:40 PM Did you negotiate the price or is the car essentially purchased at a fixed price? Thanks
CrazyIvan 06-23-2010, 08:32 PM The price is virtually fixed for ED. You can get up to 5% off MSRP. The dealer isnt obligated to give you the whole amount. The dealer gets an incentive from Audi USA for doing ED order.
Ravenash 06-24-2010, 08:24 AM CrazyIvan is right, the price is pretty much fixed. However, feel free to try to negotiate, you never know. Each dealer is different and you might be pleasantly surprised. I managed to get 6% off MSRP.
carpoor 07-22-2010, 04:30 PM TO provide an update. My "order" was actually put through by the dealer as a legit order. I received all the paperwork from AofA and welcome kit. I emailed the sales rep last week and said I had a car I wanted a trade in appraisal for asap and he said sure bring it in. Went in today and he says well your car is built, when do you want to go get it?
I've got a couple of probs with that, first being they did not option the car as prescribed on the initial order I signed. They know it and are working on it. Second problem is that even if this car were correct Audi's rules say the car must be delivered in Ingolstadt no more than 60 days from when its finished production, correct? I had told them I would be there between 9/15 and 10/15 and to put the order in to meet that timeframe.
Questions I have are:
1. Is there flexibility if the car is built earlier than expected?
2. Most people have gone in and finalized their sale 15 days prior to delivery date in Ingolstadt, correct? So if I do trade in a vehicle on this deal but dont plan to go until 9/15 ish has anyone heard of that being handled by the dealer or will they push hard to get me to sign the deal upon trade in?
