The buzzer in my A6 died a few days ago. It worked fine one day, then sounded like a staticy mess, and then hours later wouldn't make any noise at all. I see that it's a very cheap part to purchase, but how do you go about replacing it?

I am having the same problem. Luckily it is covered under my extended warranty.

You have to remove the C-pillar trim , right rear

I do have the Bentley CD - and I looked this up - all answers so far are correct (I am at work so I cant confirm):

You DO have to take the C-Pillar trim and the little buzzer is located on the rear-seatbelt roller / guide part. It is bolted to that. If memory serves - it is on the drivers side. Thinking back on the article - it involves taking hte headliner trim off - then C-pillar. Not sure tho.

Hope that helps

Mine completely died today after several months of sounding staticy. I guess I will have to visit the dealer again.

The bentley manual shows it on the hat tray under frame.

WTF. Could have been mounted from below.

Also bentley shows it bolted on the sedan and snap in on the Avant. I can see plastic tabs from inside the trunk on my sedan so I think bentley is incorrect. Going to try to remove it from below without removing the hat tray. Too many parts have to be removed

I was able to remove the speaker from underneath without removing anything.

I just cut the plastic inserts into which the two screws are screwed. Then popped the speaker out from the access port for the high break light!

Just have to buy the new part tomorrow and it will be fixed.
