I have my drivers door that makes a creeky noise and it was lubed/grease/etc by Audi and it goes away but comes back in a day or so. Anyway, I was told by Audi body shop that it needs to be replaced but Audi saids it is not covered under warranty. Has anyone had this problem and was it covered? I just think that bumper to bumper frame should be covered. Thanks for your input.

I have same sound in my A8L when opening the drivers door up till the limiter. It hasn't bother me that much, but I wonder it might be the issue described in Technical Bulletin 57-08-17 57 instead of hinge.

They should wax the contact surface between the door impact bar and door frame inside the door structure.

Thanks for the info. I will look into it. Audi does not want to do anything with my door hinge.

that lubricates the door beam. Seemed to cure the faint creak I heard. My dealer will typically do any work described in a TSB during the arranty period if you clue them in and describe similar symptoms.

On Audi doors, my other experience in general on C3's, 4's and 5's if there is creaking is to look at the door trim rather than the whole hinge. There are usually various pressure based push pins that hold it in place, and/or it slides in place and there are rubber grommets at the various attachment points. If any of these are missing/broken/misaligned, the trim panel may rub and make creaking noises. I have seen it more commonly when the door was already disaasembled for some reason--window switches, window motor issues, etc.--and the technician/mechanic didn't really look at all those parts carefully during reassembly.
