I did not get manuals yet with my car. Parallel parking is somewhat intimidating because I can't see the curb over the high rear right door (window) sill.

Can someone explain the backup camera view; the blue trapezoid and the orange lines that move with the steering? I assume this can help me park if I know how to interpret it's information.

I just saw a youtube video showing the advanced parking system of a Q7. It had another mode for parallel parking where the lines switched from orange to criss cross blue lines. Does my A8 do that, or is that a new feature?

OK, so I figured out how to switch the view for parallel parking, but I still am not sure of how to follow the lines. I hate to 'practice' with my first park job and damage the wheels on the curb. I wish my manual would get here!

I don't get it, just use your right side mirror and set it to auto down function when in reverse. If you can see the edge of the curb, no curbage to the wheels when backing up.
