Default Obnoxious Beep!

Alright, so i've had a C4 for about 2 or 3 months. About one month into owning it, it started beeping at me every once in a while with the lightbulb with the x over it. I checked the manual and it says I have some sort of light malfunction, but all my lights work. I am very low on window washing fluid and that's the only thing that has slowed the beep, because that symbol comes up more than the light malfunction.
-Has anyone experienced this?! And what was it that was "Malfunctioning"?
-Does anyone have ANY ideas?
It's killing me

By chance, do you have aftermarket HID headlight bulbs?

URS4boy: No, but I do have some aftermarket High intensity lights and some yellow lights in the fog lamp. Would having those effect something?

ORFSADOY: Is there a way to disconnect it rather than cutting it?

Default I have had same issue for 2 yrs

Comes and goes, but is a pain in the azz.
As far as I know I have stock headlights.
Can you be more specific on where this wire is located so that I can get my wire snips out first thing in the morning.
Will I be able to see my radio station settings once again?
Any side affects of cutting this wire?

TIA
Mike

I had that same light come on for a couple days, and it just stopped one day.

Replace all lights with the recommended ones. then verify if you're still getting the light out alert.

I had something similar, tail lamp was the wrong kind and autocheck was complaining. after replacing it, autocheck was ok.
