Sure, I drive downtown and hit potholes with my Bilstein/H&R suspension, but this is getting crazy.

I need new mounts, and I want the most hardcore ones I can buy. Suggestions?

Not normal. Make sure they are not Meyle next time. And that you have the proper big cup washer installed properly on both sides.

this sounds really familiar, i had the same problem and it turned out to be that the washer was missing. i ended up stealing some from a trashed A6 in a pull-a-part and havent had a broken strut mount since.

I do have those big cup washers installed. At first I didn't, but then we put them back in.

Maybe the damage (ripping the rubber) had already been done by then.

The cup washers were installed along with a new pair of mounts, not after they'd been installed for a while. The latest mounts installed were Meyle branded, but a new release intended to deal with the high failure rates of the regular mounts, as per this thread:

Do you have BOTH washers, there is one that goes below the mount and one that
goes on the top of the mount.
