I've had my Q5 for a little over a month now and there are a couple things that I'm curious about.

Is there a way to set the MMI to display the map as default view after going through its boot process? Let's say I have the Nav map displayed. Turn the vehicle off overnight then the next day I have to press "map" again or it will display my last destination. I've noticed that this doesn't happen when restarting the car after a short duration, the map will be displayed without having to press the map button again.

Next, I always have the map zoomed at 200 yards (3D). There are times that it will change itself to 100 yards say after sitting overnight. This doesn't happen often but it does happen.

I can't find a setting for defaults for either of these things. Am I missing something? Am I the only one with this issue or is this perfectly normal?

I was about to post the same question about the default setting. I have not been able to figure out how to get the map to be the default. Would be great if we can. Any help out there?

I was having the same "default zoom setting" issue and, I may be wrong here, but I believe it is tied in with the memory settings for whichever key fob you are using. I tested this by setting to 200 yds, setting Memory 1, turning off car. Turned on car, setting was at 200 yds. Repeated process with 100 yds as the setting, and when I turned car on, voila, 100 yds was back as the default.
