Default Looking for a new chipset, need recommendations.

My car is basically RS2 level minus a FMIC and cams. I have a custom 50-trim Garrett hybrid from TEC turbo that is bigger than a RS2 turbo. Basically, the car is running too rich, especially in the lower rpms. It's super laggy and I'm looking for more response. Right now I believe I have a Steve Eiche chipset, however I have been unable to open the ECU thus far (don't have the correct torx screwdriver). I cannot afford to go full standalone, so is there a more aggressive chipset that would maybe work better with a bigger turbo? I have a 3bar MAP also. Any input is welcome. Thank you in advance!

So don't whine about having the wrong tools. If you didn't whine I would have helped.

Is your ECU closed with torx? I had many BMWs that had the "crimp" type closure like my Audi has but then there was one that was closed with Torx. Random.

Well this is the 1st time I've ever had the ECU out, so I wasn't sure if the 6 torx screws were the only things holding the ECU together, other than the obvious tabs you have to pry up? I had the right torx for 4 of the 6 screws, but the last 2 were too small.

So are there any chips that might be more suitable, or I am pretty much destined to by a VEMS?

Default Get in contact with Steve at shadetreesoftware.com...

He can perhaps give you some options. He lives in Arvada, so if you guys can come up with something, turn around would be pretty quick.

FWIW, leave the torx screws in the ecu. You don't need to remove them, and it might be a pain to work with once you have it open without the base attached.
