Default Upgrading HU in 95 S6

I am thinking of getting a 95 S6 wagon and would like to put an Audi Concert II HU into it once I get it. However, this has the older style (small DIN) HU in there and I'm not sure if it will fit. How hard is it to upgrade to redo the center console to use the 95.5 style HU?

Or should I pursue an aftermarket HU and be done with it?

I'm not sure that would work, because the stock S6 hsa all this goofy bose amps all over the place.

I think he is looking for the opposite thing (mount a HU that is wider than the opening).

Default A Concert I is a better option....

The Concert II relies on CANBUS signals for illumination, and in our OBD1 cars it won't light up without some type of workaround.

You'll still have to adapt the wiring, but that's not all that difficult. Other tasks:
- Swap out the "cage" that holds the radio for the later, wider one- you'll lose your lighter socket in the process, though.
- Add a relay to trigger the Bose amps- the stock amp trigger power doesn't get it done for no readily apparent reason.

Not the easiest mod, but I installed one in my 92 S4, so it's definitely feasible.

Doesn't the 95 use the CC?

"CC"?? There are two C4 UrS radios, the std. DIN Gamma CC (Audi/Bose) in the UrS4 and early UrS6 and then the wider Delta (also Audi/Bose) in the later (95.5, 96 and 97 UrS6 (and my 98 C4 A6 avant)).

The "CC" = compact cassette (whoop tee do technology back in the day)
