On 7/22/2009, I ordered my 2010 Q5. Prestige, luxury package, blue exterior/tan interior, yummy. The dealier said that it could "change" one of its existing default "orders" to my configuration so that I wouldn't be put back at the end of the queue. Even with that, how long should I anticipate waiting before it's delivered?

I ordered my q5 Prestige ibus on 6-06-09 I'm told by dealer that it should be here by the end of Aug. early Sept. still waiting !!

Ordered my Q5 prem plus last week and dealer indicated late Sept for delivery.

They gave your order a spot in their production queue, and they are allowed to make adjustments in options colors, etc. until just before production. For me with a nearly identical vehicle to yours, it was exactly 8 weeks from the scheduled production date to delivery to the dealer. I think that's a typcial lead time from what i've seen here. It's also been metioned that customer factory orders take priority at the factory as they are 'sold' vehicles...

Wow, I'd be jumping out of my skin. Your patience is remarkable. There's something about once you finally pull the trigger and order the thing, the waiting tests the patience, at least for me.

I ordered in Mid July and I am taking delivery this week. My Q5 was put on a truck yesterday. The dealer found a pre-existing order for me.

I wouldn't be complaining too much about delivery time. Here in Australia I ordered my Q5 2 weeks ago, told I can expect delivery in Feb 2010.

This is depend where you live - east cost customers get their cars one month early then west cost customers.

Follow up post I ordered my q5 on 6-6-09 got call from dealer this morning car is on his lot hoping to pick it up Friday !!!!!!!!!!

That's awesome! I ordered on 7/22 ish and was told last week that it would be LATE OCTOBER before it arrives. Does that sound right at all? I have a sneaking suspicion that they screwed something up and had to re-submit the order. My basis for the suspicion is that when I called to check on the availability of the tow package (which I ordered originally but they said was having problems), the sales guy was like "oh yeah, right, well I am so glad you called, I had forgotten" something like this. Then he said late October.

I ordered my Q5 Prem+, S-Line, with Nav on Jun 26 with delivery expected on October 10. It somewhat depends on if the dealer has any unsold orders in the queue. If so, he can tag one for you and then you may get it sooner.

My dealer only had 10 in the queue and all were allocated except two which was one scheduled to be built in September. He changed it from a non-S-Line to an S-Line. Anything earlier in the queue could not be changed as Audi already had parts scheduled for just-in-time delivery to the assembly line.

I placed my order on 7/25 originally they were going to take another dealership's order but they wouldn't release it. :mad: Instead, my dealership modified an existing order. They called last week and said it should arrive mid to late October.

I also had a dealer change one of their existing vehicles in queue. This was done in early August. At this time we are expecting the vehicle to hit the dealership mid to late October. I was told a 3 month order cycle is average.

Ack! Dealer just told me to expect a delivery on 11/16. That's nearly 4 months from 7/22 when I ordered it! Does that sound right at all?

When I ordered, I was told late Sept delivery.

Latest update, vehicle would arrive at port late Sept and be available for delivery no later than Oct 12th.

Sounds like the original delivery date (late Oct) that the dealer told you was the port arrival date.

Quick update for anyone else anxiously waiting. I ordered on 7/22, and picked-up on 11/3/2009. Presige w/ Luxury, deep sea blue and beige interior. Worth the wait :)

I initially ordered a q5 premium plus without nav beginning of October. We then decided to add nav to the package, but the order had been picked up, so we had to place a new order mid-October. The dealer decided to keep the first order to firm up their stock, and they said that had an arrival date of Januay 11 2010. The 2nd order has not been picked up yet - needless to say I'm in for a long and painful wait.

Oh, and I'm in the midwest.

Ordered my Q5 S-line on 9 September. Just got a call from the dealer yesterday telling me it was here. So it took almost exactly two months to arrive, mind you I live in Germany. Worst part is I still have to wait a couple days for my paperwork to clear customs before I can take it home...

Ordered first wk of Sept and it arrive end of Oct.

We were going to order one in August and delivery was due in October but we ended up finding one on a lot somewhere, the wait would have killed me!!! so gosh do I feel for you guys that have to wait months and months, especially Australia :(
