supahan 08-09-2009, 08:12 PM I do not want to be shafted. I was wondering what everyone here is paying. I want a prestige plus with navigation. What did you get and for what price? If you have not bought yet, what prices have you been qouted as the best?

A demo? Not sure I like the idea of demo vehicles for an extra 5% off or so. But I guess if they are tossing in a certified pre-owned warranty, that may make up for the loss of resale value.
pcw7w6 08-10-2009, 06:52 PM we paid $47500 with the Audi care....
We have a 2009 Presitge with nav... no side assist... no drive select. It was brand new,.... not demo.
I just called each dealership, in many states (wife travels for work), and said "what is the best you can do on xyz, I'm only giving you one shot and I'm calling many dealers" Everyone was within 1k of the 47500 mark. Most didn't give the $750 audi care with the car, though. That's why we went with our dealer.
supahan 08-11-2009, 08:42 AM I just bought today. I got it for 44,300. The Premium plus with nav. Black on black. The 2010 model. Decent deal? Picking it up today.

That indeed is the ball park figure for a Q5 Prestige. I paid about 47500 for a 2010 w/ audi care - only difference is - side assist is standard and I think they added adaptive xenon headlights.

I think it is if you got the 19 inch rims with that

Thank you for the reply. I'm in So. Calif., hope I can get that off out here. Couple of sales people told me "maybe $500 off MSRP for a 2010 model"...nice eh!

I got a 13% discount just because it was a demo and also got included the 100,000 warranty on it. Only 3,000 miles on the car...perfect conditions.

supahan 08-11-2009, 06:50 PM I just drove it home. I got 4.9% interest. Yeah I forgot to mention I am in So Cal. It was the only 2010 black on black with prem and nav after looking and calling from LA all the way to San Diego.

Congrats!!!
Who was your dealer?
supahan 08-11-2009, 08:17 PM The dealer was in Norwalk but it was ultimately the car broker who found it and got the deal for me. I bought it from the fleet manager who ussually doesn't deal with individual cars but more wholesale. He took a long time with that cars "for clunkers" deal because he never did it before. He did get me an additional 1000.00 off from Audi incentive for the 2010 model. I found this information thanks to a member here. I assured him there was such an incentive for the 2010 models as well. He eventually found that there was. I could not be happier with the car.

Cavalier 08-11-2009, 11:05 PM I will mention one thing I learned about pricing. I got the dealers to deal a little bit with the regular set ups but I wanted S-Line and on that subject the tone changed rapidly. Apparently there is a very limited # of S-Lines a dealer can order. If this was a dealership jobbing me then they must have all called around to each other and shared the story because I talked to 6 dealers and pretty much heard the same thing from them all.
I did find a couple willing to deal on a 2009 S-Line that they had not managed to move off the lot the second it rolled off the trailer but I did not want a 2009. So when it came to a custom order of one of the limited slot S-Lines the dealing got real thin real fast. I actually was ready to go farther away because my close by dealer actually did not really want to make breaks on any model of Q5. The fact is there limited #of Q5s are selling so fast they are not having to cut deals with anyone here. So I wound up ordering a 2010 S-Line, Prestige, Luxury package, Quartz Grey from my local dealer with Audi Care thrown in and that is about it sad to say.
BTW, Time89 I want to thank you and several others who gave me alot of information about European Delivery back when I was asking. I put off ordering for a long time hoping I could work things out to take advantage of ED. However it appears it will not work out this time so I went ahead and placed a regular order. Next one I buy I fully intend to do ED. It is a very neat program but my vacation plans for this year will be taking me in a different direction.

You welcome. That why we here - to help each other. And believe me - ones you get your car true ED - you don't get back to the lot.
My wife don't even thinking buy our cars any other why then ED. Accept Volvo (she heated) she said I don't care - get me BMW, Audi or Mercedes - just take me again to Italy and France. :)
JK., but she walk away from MB and BMW to Audi. Girl has a taste. :)

njjoe 08-12-2009, 08:14 PM Most dealers around here (Northern Virginia) seem to be selling it at MSRP (too much money around here and almost no inventory). I got my 2010 (Black w/Cinnamon) for $1000 off MSRP which was $46,025, plus another $1000 from Audi for the CARS (clunker) program. Not a great deal, but I got the exact color and options I wanted - premium plus w/ Nav and 19" wheels.
bcalmac 08-13-2009, 09:02 AM 2010 Prestige + Luxury, $1150 off MSRP in Minneapolis. Not much to negotiate with the current availability of 2010s.
manup 08-13-2009, 10:28 AM We are picking ours up today from Rusnak Audi, Westlake Village, CA. 2010 Premium Plus,Quartz Grey, with 19" wheels. Paid $41,000 out the door. Did the CARS program trade, with $1,000 incentive from Audi, Free Audi Care for attending the Audi Driving Experience in May. The dealer gave up a little on the price $1,100)also. Not a great deal, but a good deal all in all. We ordered the car June 2nd. The dealer received 7 Q5's with ours yesterday and are expecting several more after the 19th of August, when they are released from the Port of San Diego.
The sales person and his sales Manager were very professional and treated us with respect from start to finish. The Calif., taxes and license are the real killer!
The G Man 08-13-2009, 03:43 PM Just sign the deal today. 2010 premium plus with nav. $2700 under MSRP.

lefty71 08-17-2009, 02:37 PM 2010 Premium +, S-Line, NAV
Northern Cal, got it for $800 under MSRP. I had the same experience with the S-Line, dealers are not willing to negotiate much on those due to supply and demand.
Wife and I drove 3.5 hours to this dealer, as the local dealer was trying to mark up MSRP + $2900!

brunswick31 08-17-2009, 05:48 PM Picked up my 2010 Prestige Ibus on Friday for $49,695
jhu321 08-18-2009, 01:13 PM Last night I bought a Black Q5 Prestige + Luxury off the dealer's incoming list. Its at the port now and I'm getting the port to install the hitch so should be here in 2~3 weeks. I think i got a decent deal... msrp = 51925 + 850 (hitch installed at port) = 52775 -51200 (what i paid) = 1575 off for I suppose a fairly hot car.
My position with the dealer was that it may be a hot car but the 2 q5 prestige/luxury cars in chicago have not moved in the 3 weeks that i've been shopping, so I just don't understand how hot these cars are suppose to be. I was keeping tabs on all the Q5's in the chicagoland area and in the 3 weeks i've been shopping only 3 fairly basic premiums have been sold. That's how I knocked the dealer off his "sticker only" mentality.
xrayg 08-24-2009, 01:58 PM well you are all gonna hate me , but i think i got a pretty good deal here , picked up my 2010 sline red w blk int... prem plus, nav , b&o
msrp 49+
got it for 45500!!
was a deral i worked out on the phone with a dealer 150 miles from me ...took 1 day to do since i had my own financeing ..
love the q5 and love the red and sline is sweet ..

I'm trying to work out a deal here in So. Cal. and it's difficult due to the fact I have trade-ins. Does anybody know any dealership that can give a some what high trade-in offer? Preferably I want to avoid dealing with private buyers and/or carmax. I just want to dump it and leave it... lol
Thanks

What's wrong with CarMax? Pretty easy to "dump it and leave it" and in my experience they usually offer a bit more than dealers, depending on the type of car, of course. Mixing your trade-in with the overall negotiations can be a dangerous game. Should agree to a price on the new car and then deal with the trade-in value separately - and having an offer from CarMax in your pocket will help on that end.
Do you think you can give me an estimate on how much more Carmax can give compared to dealers? If CarMax is a painless process I might give it a try... Right now I have a couple of dealers that can give me close to what I want but I'm just hoping to find that one dealer to give a little bit more. Btw, I have done this is all online...

Dealer offered me $7500 for an 04 GTI. Carmax offered me $8000. Asked the dealer if they would match and they said they couldn't. Not a huge difference but every little bit helps. The difference is probably even greater if your car has issues that a dealer will care more about. Several years back, dealer was offering me $1500 for a Jetta that had a bad AC compressor. Carmax gave me $3500 for it.
As to the process - it's completely painless - assuming you have one in your area. Took about a half hour to get the quote and it's good for 7 days. They cut a check right there or if you're upside down, you have to give them cash or a certified check to make up the difference.

Hmm sounds good. Yep, every dollar counts so I guess I'll stop by a Carmax dealership and give it a try. Thanks for your input.

RAF Molesworth in the UK
gwsteele 08-28-2009, 09:58 PM $43700, Premium Plus, Nav, 19" Wheels.
That was the supplier program. Dealers are really cagey with that sort of thing - they're not willing to negotiate much on the Q5.

If you work for an Audi supplier, you get a discount. You have to ask your company about it. http://audisupplier.com

I live in the same area and are about to order a Q5 myself. Would you mind sharing the name of the dealer? So far my best offer is only $1000 under MSRP.

Try Palisades Audi: peterliebmann@thepremiercollection.com (http://www.palisadesaudi.com/staff/index.cfm)
My plan was to order the car however, one dealer had a Q in stock with the two important options I wanted. It's a prem+, nav and B&0 for 44,000 plus a few freebies. Not the greatest deal, probably could of saved $500 more, but the economy isn't good right now and the sales person probably needed it more than me. Hopefully everything goes smoothly...
One thing I have to say about this is that it wasn't an easy process. Some dealers I went to tried to add a huge bogus "dealer fee" to the sales price and I'm like what the?

I would try Alex Hrnack at Audi of Smithtown (alexh@audiofsmithtown.com) - this is out on Long Island. They have fair pricing and Alex is a great guy. My experience with them has been seamless.

You should jump on the deal right away if it's 42907 + 500. Assuming the car doesn't have metallic paint.
