Ok folks - my first day on the forum. Got my 2010 Q5 on Friday - very sweet!! Totally glad I waited for the Cinnamon interior. I'm coming out of Touareg and I thought I'd find a little more similarity on certain features - but not finding that's the case. My question today is - when putting the car in reverse, either both mirrors or the right mirror (depending on where the switch is set), point down. Then it takes about 10 seconds after I put it in drive for them to go back up. Not sure I like this. Is there a setting someplace in the MMI to tell it not to do this? I can't find one.

On my 09' the only mirror that tilts is the passenger side. If I leave the knob in the middle position then it will no longer tilt. If thats not the case with yours then they have changed this in 2010. If you don't like the tilt then you can change the position of the mirror while reverse is engaged and that should be assigned to that key.

Forgot about the center setting - thanks! I thought that turned on the mirror defrosters, but I think they are only activated with the switch in the center position AND the rear window def on. On my Touareg, only the passenger side went down. For some reason, a couple times, both mirrors went down on the Q - maybe there is a problem. I'll try to re-create it. I've only had the car for 2 days, so still haven't been through the whole manual. I doubt there is any change between 09 and 10.
