View Full Version : Any Sirius subscription deals?
A4Driver 08-08-2009, 06:21 PM My Sirius trial subscription ran out yesterday after out after 3 1/2 months. In the past couple of weeks they sent me notices to renew, but I recall someone here saying to wait and that they would offer me 6 months free to renew. Well, that never happened.
What they are offering is this:
$12.95 for a monthly subscription
$38.85 for a 3-month subscription
$142.45 for an annual subscription with 1-month free (big whoop!)
Has anybody gotten any better deals than this?

~pino~ 08-08-2009, 07:25 PM We let ours run out and after getting a few promotional mailings, I called and somehow ended up with a year for $80.91.
Very confusing process, I will not lie.
Kevin Maloney 08-09-2009, 03:31 AM They are playing hardball now, trying to encourage long-term renewals. You can get 5 mos free with a two-year renewal, and even more for a 3-yr renewal.
Flipper 3.0 08-09-2009, 03:43 PM I paid $77 for 12 months last year. I may be selling my car, so when renewal came around I called to cancel. They offered the same deal, but when I said I may be getting rid of the car (late winter, early spring) they offered 5 months for $20. $4/mos was easy to jump at.
mart242 08-09-2009, 07:06 PM Don't they have a package that's something like 6-7$ a month for 50 channels? That's what I'd get if it was available in Canada.

I got the same deal.. I waited till my trial ran out and they started hounding me. They offered some silly deal and i countered with the 77 dollars. They accepted, no questions asked.

A-la-carte (or whatever they call it) is not compatible with Audi receivers.
I just let my subscription expire and I will not renew. Music sounds too much compressed, worse quality than FM. You can get better quality for free using Pandora or iPhone.

ah crap. I was hoping for a la carte in canada but I guess that answers my question. I'll let my subscription expire too, it's expiring this week. There's no way I'm paying 18CAD$ / month for that.
I got 1 year for 77$ a few weeks ago.
SusieQ324 09-16-2009, 08:10 AM If you're just interested in the music and don't want the premium channels, you can sign up for that plan. It's list price is $9.99.
MrStuff 09-17-2009, 09:50 AM There's even a plan for 7$ a month. 50 stations. Considering I listen to like one... i'll probably go for that.
FreshTracks 09-22-2009, 11:05 PM I let my 3 month trial expire a couple of weeks ago and got a call from Sirius the other day asking to renew for 10% off normal rates. I said no thanks and the guy threw out the $77/year deal...SOLD!

Was this price for the "Sirius Everything" package?
Buckeye96 09-23-2009, 08:41 AM They offered me a $98 per year as a sub on my exisitng account. I told them no, so now we will play the game. I figure if I call everyday, I might get 1 person who's first language is English and will be able to understand the questions as I ask them. What's the per month cost for a sub? Well sir the yearly rate is...................
a5dude 09-23-2009, 10:22 AM i'm just gonna stick to my 2gb SD card instead of listening to radio/CD for music

I agree for the most part, though it was really nice to listen to football on sunday on the long drive back from Ohio.
Buckeye96 09-24-2009, 07:00 AM got it for $77.

Yup $77 bones and I've got all the stations I had before.

What number did you call? Every time I have tried to get the deal, they deny me.
plA4keeps 12-05-2009, 07:38 PM Glad to see this thread. My subscription just ended a few days ago. My kids like the Disney station. I really like the jazz station. Much better than my local radio programming. I've discovered quite a bit of new music.
I'm struggling with paying for radio, but I would certainly renew if I can secure the $77 deal being mentioned around here.

Issaquah Coug 12-05-2009, 09:59 PM I kinda like the current deal I have....
I just got $78 for one year of Sirius, for all channels. About a month before it was set to expire, I got a letter in the mail, saying it was $142 for one year. I called the renewal number that was listed on the letter, and they said to call 888-539-7474 and connect to cancellation. I simply said the normal rate was too much money, and I might cancel. They immediately offered $78 for one year, and that includes the RIAA tax. Note this does not include the traffic, which is $4/month and they said is not discountable.
plA4keeps 12-06-2009, 05:14 PM Thanks to everyone on this forum. Just renewed. In case folks are interested, first they offered a "mostly music" package that was around $9.95/month. I only listen to a few music stations. Then they offered three months free (i.e. 12 months for the price of 9).
Not as good as the $77.00 deal talked about around here, but I took it anyway. I love the jazz station.
Regards,

medphred 04-16-2010, 12:43 PM Must be loosing customers.... Called and asked for ala carte (not available on factory units) and then told them I wanted to cancel. They offered me 5 mo for $12.44 total. If I can get it again in Sept I just may keep the service for the $25/yr!
marksv 04-17-2010, 08:09 AM I got the $77.00/yr deal three weeks ago. The radio had been cut off for about one month before I called. That might have helped.
Issaquah Coug 04-29-2010, 04:03 PM So after buying my car March 2009, our "three-month" subscription JUST ended. I called today to get the $77 deal, and they automatically provided me with an additional three months free. I asked about options after that and they quoted me $140 for a year subscription. I told him that I had done some research and thought that the going rate was $77. He said to hold off for now, and wait until just before the additional three free months expire to call and cancel and that they'd offer me the $77 for a year.
