Again, I want to thank everyone for sharing their Q5 experiences on this forum. It has been invaluable to me.

I know the Audi offers a 4yr/50,000 mile limited warranty.

Should I get an Audi Extended Maintenance plan or go with a third party like AAA?

Have any idea the cost?

I purchased the Audi care plan which covers your scheduled maintenance costs for 15K 25K 35K and 45K miles - the MSRP cost is 740$. I did not bother with anything extended as I don't plan on keeping the car for longer than 4 years or going over 50K miles.

This is our first Audi. We normally keep the car longer than 4/5 year period. I purchased the Audi Auto Care plan but held off on the Audi extended plan. Do you think its worth the $2400 for the extended plan?

I can foresee us keeping this car over 5 yrs.

You can get this plan even after 2 or 3 years but not after your original warranty expired. If I was you - I wait and see if you your Q give you any major problems in the first 1-3 yrs.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you think I can get better pricing for the extended warranty from a different dealership if we decide to go with it within the next 1-3 years?

Tray AAA, Search Google - it's not necessary go with your local dealer.

The only upside that i see with going extended at time of purchase is to be able to roll the cost into your car loan.
