Thinking of upgrading from my '97 jetta to a '05 Q5 with s-line package. I wanted the s5, but with a kid on the way, my wife squashed that. I was wondering if you own a Deep Sea Blue or Meteor Gray S-line Q5, whether you could post some pics... The other option is the Ibis White, but I found plenty of pics for that one.
Any thoughts from the audience are welcome as well.

There was a Meteor Grey S Line but all his posts seem to have been removed ? His name was Tony.
Deep Sea Blue is an awesome color, my wife has it on her A4. Only problem is that it's a very dark blue and a lot of people who saw it thought it was black???

I have a 2010 in Deep Sea Blue. IMO, it's defintely a dark blue- unlike Audi 'Sprint Blue'. But I would have a hard time believing it could be mistaken for black- it's blue in all kinds of lighting conditions...and it also seems to lack the purple tone sometimes associated with dark blues.

The Meteor Gray is hot, the de-badging process sounds intense...
Rehajm could you post some pics of your deep sea blue Q5? I worry that the dust and dirt will show very easily on the deep sea blue as opposed to the meteor gray.
Its a tough decision, but a good one to be making.

I'll see what I can do in a day or two- somebody asked about pics of the Luxury package seats, too and I've been waiting for a nice day to get some shots. (and waiting, and waiting, and waiting..)

Here's some quick and dirty- gave up on finding a nice day for pictures, but here's some to get a sense of the color. I think the color's a fairly accurate depiction. I'll see if I can get a side by side with my neighbors black Q5 when it's available. A few pics of the luxury package and the perforated seats, too

See the Meteor Gray is hot, but there is something about Deep Sea Blue that looks just really different. Does anyone think the Meteor Gray almost looks blue in direct sunlight?

I was attracted to Deep Sea Blue for just that reason- because it's a little different. Nearly every Q5 in the Northeast US I see is gray or black. It gets a LOT of attention wherever I park it.

Yes, I think Meteor has a blue hue to it in direct sunlight. I thought it was the color for me after viewing everyone's pics online 'til I saw it in person. I was not terribly impressed. It's still a nice color but I just thought it looked flat, even in the sun. Similarly, I thought that the Quartz had a slight green hue to it, not that much of an improvement over silver IMHO. Not sure where this is going to end up, but I hope I have the opportunity to see Deep Sea Blue in the flesh before I pull the trigger. I'm disappointed with Audi for not introducing a color to take the place of Dakar Beige in the US, going from 8 to 7 colors is weak.

I can tell you that Quartz Grey has no "green hue" to it...not sure where you're getting that. I have had mine for 6 days and can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten from both civilians and dedicated car buffs on the color choice. It also is the best along with silver for NOT showing dirt/dust as much (rim brake dust ugliness not included of course :-)
To each his own of course, and frankly, if you all go with other colors I'll be just thrilled, so I can have the one and only Quartz grey in New England! HA! Nahh, these are all great looking colors, but I too was surprised that Audi didn't keep Dakar Beige or replace with something else.

I'm glad to hear that you don't see any green in it, because it is still on my short list. Perhaps I was mistaken, but that was the impression I had when I saw it sitting directly next to the Ice Silver (stared at them for a solid 3-4 minutes). As with a lot of paint, it all depends on the ambient light.

Yah, with the complexity of metallic paints it's definitely possible to pick up other colors based on light, surroundings, etc. For what it's worth, I think the Q5 in Meteor Gray looks great in person.
