PSA: Use more loctite on the CPS bracket bolts...
I installed some 7A cams in my car and replaced the CPS while I was at it. I used blue loctite on the CPS bracket bolts and made sure they were torqued. Apparently, that wasn't enough. Both of the bolts backed out and one came out completely which caused the CPS to be pulled into the back of the cam gear and destroy the signal window on it as well.
Check engine light came on and the car went into limp mode which at least got me to work. Trying to restart the car after shutdown resulted in a "no start" because there wasn't a CPS signal any more.
So morale of the story: Make sure you use enough loctite or a better loctite on those CPS bracket bolts.
I consider myself lucky that it didn't cause the timing belt to jump a couple of teeth or completely destroy the belt.
Still trying to figure out why the bolts backed out.
Should be back up once I get a new cam gear and a new CPS assy.
