Default HELP! LATCH install problem

So, I dropped the S6 off at the dealership to have the LATCH child seat system retrofit installed on the car and not until the next day did they indicate that this installation was not covered under any warranty or recall campaign and that the cost of the retrofit was the responsibility of the owner to the tune of $900+ (evidently the parts alone are around $450) although they had told me different before.

For those of you who have had this done what was your experience. I thought I had read that people had this done free of charge.
I'm trying to get this resolved by the end of the day otherwise before I pickup the car again.
It would have been nice if they had indicated this to me prior to scheduling the service.

which s6? c4 or c5? Audi used to offer teathers for the c4 and latch for the c5 retrofits for free. No kit for the latch i the c4 that I'm aware of. I'd call AOA.
