Is it possible to change some internal cpu feature to stop the DRL's from going out while the ipsilateral turn signal flashes?

Yes, I had it done to mine. It's a VAG update and you need the software and correct cable, or find someone in your area who has it and will do it for you.

Lots of threads here already. Look/Search for VCDS... some good stuff here (mainly from Regina_TTS/Q5).

Picked up my Q5 yesterday and I noticed it doesn't turn off the DRL anymore... need to verify though.

I think for all models, if the xenons are on, the DRL's stay on even if you signal.

Correction to my earlier post - When engine is off DRLs stay on with turn-signals (even if main beams are off) but when engine is running DRL still switches off.

But when headlights are on, DRL's stay on with turn signals. They only go off during the day with no headlights on.
