Anyone come across this website?

http://www.trick77.com/

I just went there, and they have a web form (and Windows app you can download) to generate the code, plus instructions on turning on VIM. Also instructions for turning on the hidden-menu in the MMI 3G.

Gonna try it tonight and see!!

Sounds like a great piece of info. Don't you need a VAG-COM HEX/CAN cable to do this?

Yes, but I already have one - and I knew that it was merely a VAG hack, so this saves $150-200 which is what is generally goes for to allow VIM. If you know someone who has a VAG cable then they should be able to do this for you in five minutes.

Could you please post a link to the VAG cable that you use(in other words works with the Q5) ? The one sold at ross-tech is a bit pricey.

Sorry, I use the cable from Ross-Tech. In fact, I don't know of any others even available. As a note though, I have used the same cable with an '02 A4, '05.5 S4, '08 S5 and now '09 Q5. I know the cable is pricey, but if you plan to use it for awhile, it really does more than pay for itself.

I tried to use that website and I tried this using the VAG-COM cord they have at the dealership. I have an 2012 Q5 3.2L Quattro and went to 5F and saw NAR 2011 and DU7 High and two other lines but at no point saw a serial number or any coding that looked like the example and was not able to find a serial number.. Any suggestions on what i can do??? or where I can look. For sure it was the MMI 3G because the 5F option was the only one that matched. Please help me out

wrestope in his S4 and I in our Q5 both used the formula and instructions from here:
http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Articles_VIM.html
and it worked the first time...
basically what you are doing is telling it to stop displaying video when you hit 255 mph instead of 5 or 10 :)

Do you have any info on if this will work with the 2012 Q5 3.2L
I tried it with the VAG cord from the dealer but could not generate a serial number.
I get:

NAR 2011
coding----
Dealership number

then 3 other similar rows.... please help me out if you can
